Real life comes first
The Leave of Absence (LOA) system lets members temporarily step away for personal responsibilities or unexpected circumstances. School, work, family, health, emergencies, and other real-life situations take priority over gaming.
Eligibility
- Every official member, from Soul Recruit to Shinigami Commander, may request an LOA.
- Members may request leave for any legitimate personal reason.
- Private details or evidence of personal circumstances are not required.
- Leave may be requested in advance or after an unexpected emergency.
- Casual members do not need an LOA simply because they cannot attend optional activities.
Duration
- Short-Term LOA: 1–7 days.
- Standard LOA: 8–30 days.
- Extended LOA: 31–60 days.
- Longer absences: reviewed individually to arrange coverage for voluntarily accepted staff or competitive responsibilities.
There is no automatic removal from the clan solely because leave exceeds 60 days.
Protections during approved leave
- Keep clan membership and earned member ranks.
- Be excused from agreed event and meeting commitments during leave.
- Do not face discipline simply for being unavailable.
- No obligation to recruit or participate in gaming activities.
- Staff and competitive positions may receive temporary coverage when needed.
No member or officer may harass, pressure, threaten, or retaliate against someone for requesting reasonable time away.
Leadership leave
Officers should notify High Command when reasonably possible. High Command may appoint temporary coverage to maintain operations.
Taking leave is not misconduct and does not automatically result in demotion.
Competitive roster leave
Notify your Squad Leader when reasonably possible. A substitute may temporarily fill your position.
After an extended absence, roster placement may be reviewed based on team needs, with a fair opportunity for the returning player.
Extensions
Request additional time before the expected return date or whenever reasonably possible. Extensions must be handled respectfully without requiring sensitive personal information.
Use the LOA extension template and send it privately to leadership.
Returning from leave
Notify leadership on return so the LOA status can be updated. Review temporary operational assignments and coordinate any return to staff or competitive duties.
Check recent announcements, upcoming operations, and updates relevant to your squad.
Privacy and requests
Requests must be handled discreetly. “Personal Reasons” is a sufficient explanation; private medical, family, or personal details are not required.
Use the LOA request template and submit it through the clan’s private support process. This handbook does not collect or store leave requests.
Loyalty Is Not Measured by Online Hours.
