The Reaper’s Trial — promotion examinations

Purpose and study topics

The Reaper’s Trial evaluates understanding of SHINIGAMI OPS history, clan regulations, rank structure, tactical operations, leadership responsibilities, disciplinary procedures, Leave of Absence policies, and community values.

The examination encourages learning, accountability, and preparation for leadership. Study the official materials in this handbook before requesting an assessment.

Eligibility

• All official clan members may participate.
• The examination is required for promotion into Soul Lieutenant and higher leadership ranks.
• The examination is optional for Soul Recruit, Shadow Operative, and Elite Reaper promotions.
• Passing does not automatically guarantee promotion.
• All applicable promotion eligibility requirements still apply.
• Recruitment totals do not affect examination results.

Testing conditions

1. Complete the examination individually.
2. Do not obtain assistance from other members during a closed-book assessment.
3. Staff must explain whether notes are permitted before testing begins.
4. Members may request reasonable accessibility accommodations.
5. Test questions and answers must not be shared with applicants before an official assessment.
6. Applicants must be treated fairly and respectfully.

Passing requirements

• General Knowledge: 70%.
• Advanced Knowledge: 80%.
• Leadership Examination: 85%.
• Leadership Scenario Evaluation: reviewed separately for judgment, fairness, and communication.

Leadership scenario evaluation

Leadership candidates complete a scenario-based assessment issued by authorized staff. It contains 10 questions scored from 0–5 points, for a maximum of 50 points. The recommended passing score is 43/50.

The scoring scale is: 5—excellent judgment and clear explanation; 4—strong understanding; 3—acceptable response; 2—needs improvement; 1—poor understanding; 0—unsafe or completely incorrect response.

Responses involving retaliation, harassment, privacy violations, or abuse of authority require additional review regardless of the total score.

Retakes

Members who do not pass may review the study materials and retake the examination after 7 days. A failed examination is not a disciplinary violation.

Assessment access and security

Contact Tactical Command or High Command to request an official examination.

Official scenario questions are not published in this public library. Only authorized staff may access the official answer key and completed examination records. The public handbook provides policies and study materials—not an official test or answer key.

Do not collect passwords, private messages, or other sensitive personal information as part of testing.
